Crystal Lake Community Impact
Community Impact is a program funded and run by Premier Wellness Chiropractic, in conjunction with other businesses and organizations in Crystal Lake that are dedicated to increasing and improving the health and well-being of Crystal Lake’s families. Community Impact was founded and developed by Dr. Anthony J. Ebel, a pediatric and wellness-certified chiropractor. With his extensive education and passion for these areas, he has founded and developed this program designed to educate and inspire the community in areas related to natural and drug-free approaches to health care, exercise and fitness, nutrition and more. Its mission is to “Impact the community one family at a time” through the foundations of eating, moving, and thinking well.
As Dr.Ebel puts it… “It is clear for everyone to see that the health of our population and especially that of our children is the worst it has ever been. While many people are talking about this problem, not enough people are doing enough about it. I have dedicated my career and my practice to changing that. It is my hope that if we succeed, my children’s generation can grow up knowing a life of health and prosperity, rather than one of disease and poverty. It starts with the parents… we must teach them how to be healthy role models for their children by teaching the whole family how eating well, moving well, and thinking well is vital to their success.”
True community wellness is about more than checking blood pressure and cancer screenings, it must be proactive instead of reactive and give people the tools they need to succeed in the areas of health and wellness. People must be excited and inspired to go after their health, rather than taught to be worried and scared about “catching” a disease.
The shift is already happening in our society as parents of the next generation are demanding change because they’re seeing that what we have now is not working. A society set up around sedentary living, high stress levels, processed foods, and pharmaceutical drugs is destined to be a society rampant with sickness and disease. If we are going to shift from this current way of living, it is going to need to shift one family at a time.
