Neural Integration at Premier Wellness Chiropractic
Our office has a unique program that is one of only a few in the entire world offering the level of expertise and integration that we do in naturally, holistically treating Neuro-Developmental Disorders.
Our clinic is truly a national leader in treating autism, ADHD, epilepsy, sensory processing disorder, mood and behavior disorders, learning disorders, and more. By offering a truly integrated approach with multiple forms of treatment all under one roof, we are able to get incredible results.
The Neural Integration Program has two main goals. First, we seek to calm and balance the central nervous system. Most children with ND disorders are stuck in a chronic state of fight/flight neurology. Secondly, our program uses multiple approaches to “re-program” and “re-integrate” their disorganized nervous system.
The Hallmark of our Program
The hallmark of our program is a quote by Dr. Bruce Lipton:
“You can’t be in growth (development) and protection at the same time.”
We strongly feel that children have developmental delays mainly because their nervous system’s are overstressed and disorganized. Therefore every approach we take is designed at calming, balancing, and re-integrating that overstressed nervous system. The results of that are powerful.
Foundation of NI Program
“We don’t guess, we test.” Every aspect of our program begins with a comprehensive, detailed, and advanced examination and testing. The results of this then leads to a specifically tailored, individualized treatment program for the child.
The program has three main approaches with many supportive therapies as well:
- Specific, neurologically-based chiropractic adjustments
- Neural Integration Therapy and Exercises
- Functional Nutrition and Biomedical Intervention
The Role of Chiropractic with NI
This central theme is truly what sets our program apart. Many children with neuro-developmental delays receive therapies such as OT, PT, speech, and nutritional guidance. But nothing has as much impact on the central nervous system as a chiropractic adjustment, and stress and interference on the nervous system is the hallmark of these challenges. Thus, the adjustment is the hallmark of our program.
Our doctors are specifically trained through advanced certifications in treating these children, and our adjustments are always specific and safe. The main goal of the adjustments is to remove vertebral subluxation, which interferes with the function of the nervous system. Doing this allows us to remove the stress from the nervous system, allowing it to move from a state of protection (fight/flight) to one of growth and development.
We specifically tailor our adjustments to each individual child by first performing a comprehensive computerized exam that measures and quantifies the amount of stress on the spine and nervous system. Many of these children have excessive stress on the upper neck and brainstem area due to birth injury from forceps, vacuum, Cesarean, or prolonged deliveries. These scans serve as the blueprint for our care and are repeated consistently throughout care to monitor progress and improvement.

Neural Integration Therapy and Exercises
Once the nervous system is calmed and balanced through the adjustments, we use movement-based therapies to re-organize and re-integrate it. We begin by performing a Neuro-Integration and Sensory Assessment where we check such things as posture, balance, coordination, gross and fine motor skills, core strength, primitive reflexes and more.
Our functional movement coaches come from various backgrounds related to health and physical activity, and have extensive training in neurology as well. Our coaches work one-on-one with each child in a calm and controlled environment each visit for 30-60 minutes on average. The exercises and activities are specifically designed to address weaknesses found in our assessment. Like the adjustments, each child’s therapy and exercise program is specifically tailored to their individual needs.
GOALS: Organization / Integration of Neuro-Development
Functional Nutrition Program
This program is led by our Functional Nutrition Doctor, who holds extensive education and training in the areas of physiological lab testing, nutrition, supplementation, and bionutritional intervention. Each child first receives an extensive history as well as an expanded lab workup to check many physiological functions such as metabolism, neurotransmitter function, digestive and immune function, blood sugar control, and much more.
After the initial paperwork and lab work is completed, each family has a one-on-one consultation to review the findings, and go over that child’s specific diet and nutrition plan. Dr. Fisher’s recommendations may include elimination diets, vitamin and mineral supplementation, and changing the timing of meals and snacks.
The addition of the Functional Nutrition Program has greatly enhanced our results with these children and is essential component to healing each and every child, no matter how simple or complex the case. Our program also makes absolutely sure to start with the basics for each child and family, and to not overwhelm or overstress the child by doing too much, too fast. This is an often overlooked, yet very important component of a successful nutrition program.

We have successfully taken him off Seroquel and have only 5mg. left to go until he is off the Adderall. We approached Jonathon's difficulties head on and aggressively. This included visits 3 times a week and rehab exercises and therapy 2 times a week. Cleaned up his eating/ nutritional habits, added supplements, eliminated processed foods, white flour, sugary foods, no dairy, and drinking LOTS of water.
He sleeps better and more soundly, no more "night terrors." He has frequent bowels, he was going once a week. Today, because of the rehab he gets at Premier Wellness, he has significantly improved. He is now speaking in more complete sentences which are understandable. He is able to stay on task and focus and function at a higher level.
We know there is no cure for Jonathon's disability, instead we look at what can be the ABILITY... we are hoping for a better quality of life for him through chiropractic. At our wits end, we made an appointment with Dr. Tony – our lives were about to take a dramatic change all for the better. Our son underwent scans and x-rays to analyze his spinal positioning, all of this was foreign to me, but why not give this a chance.
