Chiropractor in Crystal Lake :: Dr. Derek Kasten
I hope that one day Crystal Lake will be known as the health capital of the United States.
Dr. Derek Kasten grew up in Greenfield, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee. He attended UW- Milwaukee and UW- Oshkosh where he focused on his prerequisites for Chiropractic College. While in undergrad, Dr. Derek also enjoyed playing soccer for both universities, as well as volunteering and working as a camp counselor, referee and coach. After fulfilling his requirements it was time to head off to Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, IA. Dr. Derek was excited to be a part of many clubs, organizations and groups and in 2007; he walked away from Palmer with a Bachelors Degree in Science and Doctorate in Chiropractic.
The last two years Dr. Derek had been practicing chiropractic in West Lafayette, IN. He learned many valuable lessons and gained important knowledge while developing his philosophy and foundational beliefs. Throughout his life, Dr. Derek has had a desire to help people and he feels fortunate that he was able to find such a great profession to achieve his dreams. He is committed to using chiropractic as an avenue to improve the health and wellness of everyone he meets. He is especially dedicated to serving the needs of families, children and athletes and to continue to expand his ability to do this he is currently focusing on adding his Pediatrics Certification from the ICPA.
His philosophy and belief in teaching others how to achieve the wellness lifestyle is one reason why he chose to join the energetic and focused staff at Premier Wellness Chiropractic where health is available without a prescription. Dr. Tony and Dr. Derek have been friends for many years and graduated together from Palmer College of Chiropractic. To be on board with a pioneer and an innovator such as Dr. Tony, is a blessing and something Dr. Derek is very grateful for.
Dr. Derek, his wife Casey and their children Layla and Tate are currently in the process of getting settled in Crystal Lake, IL. The Kasten family follows a vitalistic approach to health and is intent on eating well, moving well and thinking well. One of their goals is to practice what they preach and to tell the truth about chiropractic and wellness, with a purpose. They are thrilled to be a part of the community and they know that Crystal Lake will be a perfect fit for the Kasten family.
Dr. Derek’s main mission is to increase the health and wellness of local friends and families through education and the miracle of chiropractic care. He hopes that one day Crystal Lake will be known as the health capital of the United States. Families from all over the globe will journey to Premier Wellness in order to move towards health and away from dis-ease.

I am committed to promoting and encouraging others to follow in the philosophy, science and art of chiropractic. As a Doctor of Cause, I have a vision on changing the pain and symptom based medical model into a model which strives for health and wellness. I understand how a subluxation, which is an effect of stress, can have a negative impact on the body’s ability to adapt, self regulate and heal. Therefore, I seek to educate and teach the truth with purpose, and to help those that have F.E.A.R. (False Evidence Appearing Real) about moving towards health and away from dis-ease. I will provide a plan and a purpose based on a solid foundation in order to allow the masses to enjoy the essential and necessary health care without contradiction or compromise.
